Hi, welcome to the podcast. I am Joe Posnansky, and with me is Michael Shore. Michael, welcome.

0:29.5

Thank you for having me, Joe. You are welcome. They're kind of a little bit of a, like a, like a sneaky happiness.

0:37.5

Well, I am, I am in a very good mood for many reasons, starting with the fact that in the mail,

0:43.8

two days ago, arrived a book, a book from one of my favorite writers, Joe Posnansky. What?

0:52.2

Called why we love baseball and history in 50 moments. It's sitting right here on my desk. I'm very

0:57.2

excited about this. And I feel like we do this thing. One of the many ways in which you and I

1:02.2

are bad at podcasting, which I think you've been well documented. We, we talk for way too long.

1:07.8

We have no organizational skills. We don't plan anything. We didn't realize until six years in that

1:13.0

you could have a professional microphone to make you sound good. That's right. We didn't realize

1:17.2

until eight years in that you could have guests come on the show and make sure more interesting. Yeah,

1:21.8

well, again, well documented that we're terrible at this. However, another way that we are bad at

1:27.2

this is that you and I have both had projects that you can use a podcast to advertise. And usually

1:35.9

we don't get into the fact that you've written a new book until like an hour 16 into the podcast.

1:41.4

I think that it's appropriate today here in mid August with this book coming out in a matter of

1:46.5

days that we lead off the podcast by saying Joe incredibly to everyone's great surprise has

1:54.4

written a book. It's called Why We Love Baseball History in 50 moments. I'm holding it in my hand

1:58.5

and it's extremely exciting that this is finally here. I am very, very excited. And there are a

2:04.4

couple of things that I need to be said right up front about it. First of all, I am not the only

2:10.7

person who wrote Why We Love Baseball. Why We Love Baseball has a couple of special guest appearances

2:18.4

I want to say. That's right. One of which is Michael Shore. That's right. Michael Shore wrote a

2:24.9

chapter in this book. And not only did he write a chapter in this book, he wrote a chapter.

2:30.7

The assignment, it wasn't even an assignment because as far as I remember, I never asked you.
