Today, the world received news that Pope Francis died this morning after leading his final Easter Sunday Mass.

We're coming on the air with a special report. Pope Francis has died. The Vatican made the announcement a short time ago.

It comes just one day after he surprised the faithful with an appearance on

Easter Sunday. He named himself after Francis of Assisi, the saint known for his simplicity and

humility. The first pope to hail from the Americas, the first Jesuit pope said he wanted a poorer

church, one that would include the excluded.

He'd become one of the most popular public figures in the world, regularly speaking up for the voiceless and leading by example,

whether dining with the homeless, washing prisoners' feet, or providing a home in Italy for migrants and refugees, fleeing lands

torn by war or economic instability.

He was a tireless advocate for the rights of migrants, even taking the rare step of delving

into a nation's politics when he criticized the Trump administration's plans to deport millions, saying it violated human dignity.

Pope Francis shifted views on many social subjects that had long been held by Catholics.

He championed things like combating climate change, migrants' rights, LGBTQ plus rights, and income inequality, name a few. In a time that conservative social movements

have been sweeping the world, he stood firm in this call for compassion and empathy.

In Pope Francis and Spanel's remarks before his death, he spent Easter championing migrants' rights.

Meanwhile, Donald spent Easter raging on social media.

These are two very different kinds of Christians on Easter.

Well, okay, sorry.

These are two very different kinds of people, one of whom was actually Christian in the sense

that it's meant.

And the other one is basically somebody without any beliefs, which is fine with me.
