my Roman Empire, and that is Diane Warren's quest to get an Oscar. So she has just received her 17th

Oscar nomination for Dear Me, a song for her 2024 documentary about herself.

I don't know why this is so funny.

It's called Diane Warren Relentless.

And as many have said, she certainly is relentless when she is trying to pursue that Oscar.

Now, unlike two cool entertainment stars, Diane has no shame in her game when it comes

to campaigning. She's at events, screenings, receptions, and she throws a famous New Year's Eve party

with more than 400 guests in order to lock in a nom. The night before the nominations are announced,

she holds an all-night nomination party. They started

this 10 years ago when she was nominated for Till It Happens to You with Lady Gaga. She told

Variety it was just fun. We get pizza. And I don't really drink, but I have a couple glasses of

red wine because I'm so nervous. Hours go by because people come over and

sane ones go home and some come back. My core friends wait up and literally count down the

fucking seconds. You have to wait for the commercial on the top of it. I always say,

I've already won whatever happens. That's such a big win to be among five songs, sometimes only three.

So she says a bunch of her friends, mainly some old friends and some she's known from

kindergarten come to these parties. And she says it's a lot of people rooting for me.

I'm like the team that has been losing for decades.

It would be really fun to win. That would be the icing on the vegan cake. She's vegan.
