Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

St. Louis de Monfort proposed a 33-day preparation for consecration to Jesus through Mary, which we're going to do on the feast of Our Lady of Fatim on May 13th.

And in this 33 days, Montfort, one of the things he proposed was that we meditate

on the Sermon on the Mount.

So today we begin a little mini series on the beatitudes.

We're going to take one beatitude each day.

What do all people want? What is everyone searching and striving for?

Happiness. And beatitude means happiness. In fact, the eight beatitude means happiness.

In fact, the eight beatitudes are God's eight-step plan for true happiness.

I was walking into the Mount of Beatitudes in the Holy Land and I overheard a guide say to a group,

most Christians don't know the Beatitudes.

That's probably true and it's tragic. It's tragic to live life

without knowing the sure-fire way to get what everyone wants.

Happiness. So here it is. to get what everyone wants, happiness.

So here it is.

Blessed are the poor and spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

for they will be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
