She's the former Under Secretary of State under President Obama

and the person who negotiated the Iran nuclear deal for the United States.

I want to ask you about some of the foreign policy hotspots on the planet these days,

but let me start if I can with a more general question.

How do you see America's position in the world today after two and a half years of Donald Trump?

Concerning, challenging. You know, America, everywhere I traveled when I was the Under Secretaryretary of State for Political Affairs under President

Obama, and everywhere I've traveled since, people always say, we will do our part, but we need

America to lead. America was seen, as Ronald Reagan said, that's shining city on the hill, the place of hope that had a

certain moral authority and obviously the economy, the military power, the diplomatic power to

really exert a lot of influence at every table around the world. Now people aren't so sure of any of that anymore. It is not just

Donald Trump saying it's about America first, which harkens back to World War II in a time

of anti-Semitism and Nazi Germany. But they also see that we're pulling away from our moral responsibilities,

that we're pulling away from our leadership in the world. And that is quite concerning.
