Tonight, I'll be reading Part 9 of Pollyanna, Chapter 20 and 21 by Eleanor H. Porter.

In the previous chapters, Nancy and Pollyanna had made up their mind that Mr. Pendleton was Miss Polly's long-lost lover. Meanwhile, Pollyanna started school and enjoyed more time visiting Mr. Pendleton, making rainbows with prisms and the sun.

Mr. Pendleton even asked Pollyanna to live with him, and she got away with

herself with ideas that he and Miss Polly might reunite, much to Mr. Pendleton's frustration and

confusion. Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves

ready for sleep. Start by taking a deep, relaxing bread and settle your body in whatever way feels most comfortable.

Now let any thoughts of the day drift away from your mind and simply follow the sound of my voice.

Sunday mornings, Pollyanna usually attended church and Sunday school. Sunday afternoons she frequently went for a walk with Nancy.

She had planned one for the day after her Saturday afternoon visit to Mr. Pendleton,

but on the way home from Sunday school, Dr. Chilton overtook her in his gig and brought his horse

to a stop.

Suppose you let me drive you home, Pollyanna, he suggested.
