Why are so many people here seemingly so unimpressed by the leadership being offered by the Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill?

And why is her colleague Arlene Foster-faring considerably better, even though both leaders recently polled in negative territory?

I think it all comes down to the Bobby's story funeral.

Michelle O'Neill's poll ratings are absolutely awful.

61% of people thought that she was doing a bad or awful job as Deputy First Minister

compared to about 38% for Arlene Foster.

But what will worry Sinn Féin,

it's not that Michelle O'Neill is polling badly with unionists.

She is 86%. That is an overwhelming majority of unionists have no confidence in her.

But what will worry Sinn Féin is that Green Alliance voters feel exactly the same way.

More than 50% of them, 56% are unimpressed with her.

And Arlene Foster actually beats her in the popularity ratings.

That never happens.

Michelle always comes ahead of Arlene with these other voters,

these Green, these alliance voters.

These are the people that Michelle O'Neill is expected to win over to Sinn Féin, a young woman,

not the old guard, taking over the reins in the party.

And it's bad news for Sinn Féin in transfers at the next Assembly election because it's suggesting that whereas

Arlene used to be toxic to voters, perhaps it's now Michelle.
