There's different things that I've experienced.

I've kind of always experienced a level of scrutiny

that has been pretty consistent.

And so I think knowing what that feels like,

I don't want other people to feel that way.

I want them to feel loved and seen and capable

and deserving and worthy and all of those things.

And so it's just, I guess, a part of who I am

and a part of my experience.

Listen, I will be remiss if I didn't say this.

I saw some videos of you in the past.

And the church failed you.

A lot of people in the church, we failed you.

And so as a Christian man, I stand in proxy

with those people that aren't judgmental

like some of the people that you've experienced.

And I ask that you accept our apology

on the failing you, Megan.
