We've got a sold-out crowd.

We're two weeks out from the election, 13 days out, not that anyone is counting.

13 days out from the election, John Dickerson has been taking soundings. He's been counting the rings on the oak trees in his front yard. He's been examining the entrails of the sacrificial

doves to look at the numbers. In our first segment, we're going to talk about the state of the race

right now. Then, apremois, Le deluge, what will happen to Trump and to

Trump's voters after the election? And don't say, we'll be calling him President Trump. That's not

going to happen. Assuming he loses, what's going to happen to those voters. And then our third segment

is what Emily calls the repair shop segment. We are going to fix

American elections and democracies in just 12 minutes. We're going to have specific ideas for

fixing the election and for healing the breaches in the American public life. We will, of course,

also have cocktail chatter.

Our Slate Plus segment this week is a special seance, a mystical seance

that we were part of in Boston this week.
