When I made an analysis last year on the terrible state of the

Houses of Parliament, full of ancient and hazardous plumbing and cabling, it got me thinking

about the systems we rely on for everyday life and how easy and catastrophic it is to neglect them.

Well, nothing's more crucial to modern life than electricity.

And when I started looking at that, I discovered we're in the middle of an electrical revolution with big implications for

all our society. So will we all get the power we need? Here's a programme called

Political Electricity.

And not just for analysis, though that is of course the ideal way to electrify your day.

Maybe you're just benefiting from the

household basics, lighting, heating, fridge, freezer and so on, as well as all your

tech, the TV and Wi-Fi, and if you're an innovator, maybe even your cars electric. But now imagine what life will be

like if suddenly all that electrical power disappeared.
