You are the first interview we're recording since the New Year,

and since, not the first since the election but the election

was very recently and before we dive into that and some of the I mean one of the reasons

we wanted to have you back is some of the stuff you've been talking about for quite a while was

predictive in terms of what's happened recently and what may happen in the

future but just before we get into that remind everybody who are you how are you

where you are what has been your journey through life?

Yeah, so I'm a professor of politics at Birkbeck University of London.

I've studied questions of nationalism, particularly majority ethnic groups,

so when we talk about white majorities, that's the kind of thing that I've been studying for over 20 years.
