in on how our local House of Representatives members have voted in the Jim Jordan speaker

nomination. Some of you know we are beginning to follow on this show the local swing districts

already ahead of next year's congressional elections because control of Congress was

basically determined in the New York suburbs when around five districts swung from Democrat

to Republican last year. They will all be hard fought again next year with control

once again at stake. And this is one of the reasons it matters so much speaker. The majority

party elects the speaker. The speaker decides what legislation can get to the floor for
