One of my favorite politicians, one of the people for whom I have the greatest respect in

the world of politics has been for well over a decade, Keith Ellison. He was the attorney general

of Minnesota. Prior to that, and he was on this program regularly, he was Minnesota's

representative, Minnesota's fifth congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

And he has a new book out titled Breaking the Wheel, ending the cycle of police violence

that is just an absolutely extraordinary look. Mostly, it centers around the George Floyd killing

and the trial that was involved with that because Keith Ellison himself was very involved with that.

And I think it's really a very important book. And so on the line with us is Keith Ellison himself.

I just have to, I read your book, Break the Wheel, usually ending the cycle of police violence.

It's not often that I have an opportunity to actually read the book of the person that I'm

interviewing. And you did such a great job with this book. You start out talking about,

you know, getting the, getting the call about what was happening with George Floyd. You want to

speak to that, how, you know, where you were, what you were doing, where you were in your life

at that point, and why this was such a consequential call.
