For the first time since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Poland has shot down Russian drones

and entered its airspace during Moscow's latest attack on Ukraine.

Poland's Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, said 19 Russian drones violated Polish airspace

and those which posed a threat, up to four of them, were shot down by Polish and NATO pilots.

We are most likely dealing with a large-scale provocation, but at the same time, we are in consultation with our allies.

I'm in constant contact with the NATO Secretary General.

This is so that in the next few hours, days and beyond,

we can respond to this type of threat as effectively as we did tonight.

This is the first time Russian drones have been shot down over the territory of a NATO country,

and therefore all our allies are taking the situation very seriously.

Mr Tusk said that a line had been crossed and that Poland was closer to open
