Okay, well, good evening and welcome to the Pompey Politics podcast.

I'm sure Ian will be back shortly.

But I seem to, at the moment, it's just me.

We were going to look at what was happening on nationally and

locally and see where we're kind of going on. So while Ian tries to kind of find his way,

his way back into things, the key, one of the key kind of local things that's happened over the last week or so.

And apologies, we cancelled last week's show because I wasn't very well.

I don't know if you can tell because my throat's a bit bad.

There's lots of kind of fluy things going around.

I'm not sure whether it was COVID or not.

But here I am. Let's kind of see when,

with, hopefully Ian will be back shortly, as I say. So, yeah, one of the things that was announced

last week was the confirmation of the candidates for the, for the Pools Grove by-election. That's

happening on the 23rd of October,

and that's been brought about by the resignation of one of the three Pools Grove councillors,

Brian Madrick, who's stepping down.

And because it's more than six months away from the scheduled elections in May,

that means that he is,

it means that we have to have a by-election.

So that is happening on October the 23rd.
