Who is the 10th man in the rotation?

Jason Kidd said he's going to build a 10-man rotation. I think nine are pretty obvious. The 10th one, not so much. I'll tell you who I think it's going to be. And then we've got a couple other questions about that. But I want to start here. Point Cooper flag has been like a thing that has been talked about.

Like we've talked about on this show and making Cooper Flag a quote unquote point guard.

And I think it started back when it, Kid, in Flagg's introductory press conference, Jason Kidd, the head coach of the Dallas Maverick, sat there and said we're going to even look at playing cooper flag at point guard and so then all of a sudden we're like okay playing cooper flag at point guard what does that mean and throughout this whole process i thought it was a great idea i thought jason kid was right to say that it was it was good for him to say we're going to put the in his hands. We're going to allow Cooper Flag to initiate some of the offense, create some offense for himself and create for others. Because I think that's what Cooper Flag's high-end level is going to be at a certain point. Him creating, him creating for others, being like maybe the secondary guy on a team. I don't think he's the number one as far as, like, Luca, SGA, one of those guys that just they can get a bucket no matter what. Maybe Cooper Flagg ends up being like that, but I don't think that's his game. I think he's the ultimate connector piece. Honestly, I think he's more like what Yokic is as a connector than like an SGA or Luka. And Yokic can lead the lead the league in scoring if he wanted to but i think he's more of a connector than he is like a producer in that way and so to put the ball on his hands i thought was great it's going to be great for his development it's going to be great and now then then de angelo russell sits out of a preseason game Cooper flag starts at the quote unquote point guard.

And now all of a sudden we're talking about it. And we're like, is it point flag? Is it point guard flag? I think the thing that is missed in all of this, that is missed in, and okay, so point flag was asked, Jason Kidd was asked about this. I think by our friend Kevin Gray. And Kidd said this. I think when we're looking at him starting at the point guard, it's probably more of a

point forward situation. But since technically we got to list somebody at the point guard

position, I guess we're listing him at the point guard position. If I had my full soundboard and I

wasn't being held hostage in this attic that I'm recording it today.

I would do the Jason kid.

Or I would do the, I'm not playing, I'm watching just like you guys. I would do one of those drops right now because that is the Jason kid quote if I ever had to say one. Well, I guess we've got to list somebody at point guard. So I guess Cooper Flagg's the ones. So if you guys want to say he's the point guard,

then we'll listen to that point guard.

The thing I think that that misses,

is that this new offense,

the Mazzar trying to run, does not really have a point guard. They run offense through different players. They're going to run offense through Anthony Davis at the elbow. Derek Lively at the top of the key as a hub. They're going to run offense through Clay Thompson off ball stuff. They're going to run stuff through D'Angle through Cooper Flag taking the ball, PJ Washington taking the ball. They want to run and push in transition. They want to run a lot of their offense after even made baskets, but push the ball. Get out in transition. After a miss for the other team, PJ gets the rebound, pushes. Anthony Davis gets the rebound, pushes. Handles the ball himself. There's not really like a point guard in the traditional sense. There's not the, I was just watching a video of Derek Fisher. Like there's not going to be that type of point guard anymore where he brings the ball up, you know, like the classic point guard, the Andre Miller type point guard. There just is not going to be that in this Mab's offense. you don't really need one. You need somebody that's going to be able to get the ball over the half court line.
