And today we are going to be studying a poem by Hoffez, which is actually Qazal number 255.

And so this is the entire poem.

So before we begin, I want to ask you kind of the background of this poem and why we chose it.

Let's start there.

Okay. We chose this poem because,

well, it is one of Hoffa's most renowned poems, and the message behind it is just absolutely beautiful, and the imagery that he uses is all imagery rooted, or much is image rerouted in the traditions of the Old Testament

and then adopted in the or on. So it's a very sort of unifying and beautiful poem with lots of

unifying and beautiful imagery in it. So that's why I thought it would be appropriate.

And I think the message that it really bears is something that I think everyone can benefit
