Learn Persian with Chaiang Conversation, Baba Tahir Khoshaw-em- and welcome to part two of our discussion on Babo Taher's Khoshaw-em-Shou.

So, as we mentioned in the introductory lesson, this is a very unique poem in that it uses a different dialect than the one we usually teach in Chaiang Conversation.

So we're going to go over the poem, but also learn how to say the words and phrases

in the poem in everyday modern conversation.

First, let's listen to my Aunt Farnas, recite the entire poem.

Oh, shaw, emshok of you, my mom,

Kabootar barbom ofo-ture-mah.

To rush-ro-e-mak-mehun, mymun-a-siezeh.

Goda, do'-donekardash, where I am.

All right, wonderful.

So let's begin with the first line.

Chusha-em-shou, that mehmoh-mehune-shomoyom.

Let's begin with Khoshaw-em-shu.

Repeat that after me.

Khoshah-em-shu.

And as always, when I say a word, repeat it out loud after me.

Khoshaw-em-she-em-she-em-shou means tonight.

And again, this is with the Hamidani accent.

With the Tehrani dialect, which is the version we speak here at China Conversation, that becomes

em-shab. M-Shab.

M-Shab.

So Shab is the word for night.
