We are on a massive adventure across the entire world, starting with South America to meet the strangest, goofiest and occasionally scary,

magical monsters.

You heard me say Mia.

That means hello in the language of the Chirua people.

The Chirua live in Uruguay, a beautiful country in South America,

famous for its rolling green hills and cowboys called gauchos.

And Uruguay is exactly where we find today's featured creature.

Imagine walking down a dark, empty road on a Tuesday night. The moon is full and bright, casting long, grapy shadows over the empty fields.

Suddenly, you hear a rustle in the grass.

A huge black creature appears, bound in quickly across the field.

It looks like a dog, but it's way too large to be a dog, and for a moment, it wobbles and stands on its hind legs, trying to pull itself out of its dog form.

You hear the sound of rough fur growing and bones twisting as the creature fights the change.

It throws its massive shaggy head back and lets out a terrifying inhuman howl that tills

you right down to your toes.

This howling hairball is the Lobison.

The Lobison is a mythical creature from the folklore of Uruguay.

It is similar to a werewolf, meaning it is a human who transforms into a half-human, half-wolf monster.

The Lobbizan often looks like a gigantic, scruffy, black dog, but sometimes it is described as a pig or half human, half dog hybrid.

A hybrid means a mix of two different things.

For example, half mouse, half elephant.
