This story was first published in Fire, Issue 33, February 2025. C.T. Mucemwa is a Zimbabwean

writer and academic currently based in Toronto. Her short stories have previously appeared in

Auger, Fire, Podcastle and The Deadlands. She is a 2022 Miles Morland scholar and she has an MFA in creative

writing from the University of Wyoming. Munashe Rachel Goramonzi is a Zimbabwean-based

theatre educator, NAMA award-winning screen actor and an upcoming director. She has works across

the screens and stages of Zimbabwe and Africa.

Manashe holds a BA in Applied Media and Performance Studies.
