19th date. That will live in for ever. Yeah, we're here doing an emergency episode of podcast unlocked because Microsoft made themselves a little announcement today. Mitch, tell us about it. So you remember all that controversy where the Xbox one had to be always online. You had to check in every 24 hours. And you couldn't trade in your use game. All that stuff is gone. That's easy. That is no longer a feature of the Xbox one. The Xbox one now is for all intents and purposes.

And Xbox 360. I like that you referred to it as a feature. I was excited for those. I was telling Greg. I was really excited to be able to share my library with everybody in this room to tell my dad, hey, buy an Xbox one. Never play a game or never buy a game on it. I will share my entire library. We talked about it yesterday. I saw it. For all of like mixed messaging and stuff. I was really excited for like, what is it?

I was really excited for like what Xbox one was now where it's like all those features are gone. There is no family sharing. There is no digital library sharing. Now you can trade your discs. I can give you my discs discs like an Xbox 360.

The coolest things about Xbox one are gone. That sucks. So yeah, let's let's let's detail it specifically. Mitch, you started into it. So yes, so that's the sacrificial lamb today for this for for appeasing the vocal.

What appeared to be masses is yes, the family sharing thing is no more. You will you can't tag people on your friends list to say, here you go, Mitch, I've got four to motor sport five and you've got dead rising three. Let's just share those with each other. And when you're not playing one, I can play it when you're not playing, you know, yours, I can, I can play it. That is out the window.

The best thing the Xbox one had going for it. Pretend that never existed because for all intents and purposes, it didn't. Yeah, it never did. It's never a feature of the console you can play. Now the Xbox one does not need to be connected to the internet. You can day one, when you get your Xbox one, you have to patch it in order to enable on the offline play.

Ironically, well, this worked really well with the Wii U. So I'm happy to see this. Yeah, yeah, back here.

Some tells me the patch time will be a little less than it is time around. I think I think Xbox might understand the bit more than we can go.

Yeah, so then we've got you can still buy games day and day digitally. Yep, you can still install them. You can still fast switch between games provided that they're not disc based games. Xbox other game. Yeah, you will need if it's a, if it's a game that you've purchased on a disc, you will need to have the disc in the console as a security check.

Xbox prices right makes perfect sense. That's how it works. You can still do that.

And yeah, there are no online check-in, no always online, no nothing. All that is out the window. The cloud's still there.

It's great that you can play games offline. That's really awesome. Because now it's, this is almost like a direct answer to the internet mass cry of like, what about the dudes in the military?

Like what about the servicemen and women who can't access the internet?

Who traditionally, by the way, if I may speak for them, seem like there mostly been Xbox people this generation, you know, Call of Duty guys. Yeah, yeah, they already had an option built in for military people from when I've read though.

In Xbox one. Yeah, for Xbox one, you could like get a special thing. Absolutely not. No, okay, go back to neo-gaff testing.

So what we have now is a console that is for all intents and purposes, functionally identical to the PlayStation 4.
