with an author of the book, Enjoying It, Candy Crush and Capitalism, as well as an assistant

professor and editor of the Everyday Analysis Blog and series of books, Alfie Bowne, joining us today

Hi, Ryan. Thank you so much for having me on. It's good to be on Kane and Rince. I'm a big fan of the podcast and the website.

Well, thank you. We're glad to hear that. It's been a little up and down recently. We're recording this

right after the site, just kind of struggled back to life after our hosting issues. And so to give the listener

some context for when all that's happening. But I think we're up and running again. And so

there's a Zelda podcast coming out, which I've been there keeping an eye on out for. So looking

forward to seeing that. Oh yeah. That that's right i think we've had uh links

awakening in the canver a little while now but it just got delayed because of the uh all the server

issues but should be smooth sailing from here on out all right so now you are located in hong

right now.

Is that a permanent abode or is that, are you there on business or what is the story behind

that?

It is permanent now, but it's new.

We moved here in September.

I've been at the University of Manchester for nearly a decade and my wife finished her degree in Liverpool and we decided to move out here.

So I've got a job here in a small university and it's pretty good. I'm really enjoying it.

My wife's enjoying it. We've just had a baby. She is about eight weeks old. So we've just got here,

but we are, you know, we're staying for the foreseeable future,
