Summary

The "Oldest Rivalry In the South" renews this Saturday as Carolina prepares to take on the Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville, with the two teams heading in very different directions so far during this season. As a Virginia native, Inside Carolina's E.J. Wilson always placed special emphasis on that game as a player, and now he joins host Jon Seiglie to dive deep into the rivalry between UVA & Carolina. Wilson shares his best and worst memories from facing off against the Cavaliers, and also gives some insight into how the players approached this game.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. I'm your host for this one, John Siegley, joined by former UNC defensive lineman E.J. Wilson. So this being the week of Virginia, we normally would have the Ask Taylor and E.J. show. But we're switching things up a little bit here because for those that may not know, E.J.

0:38.4

is from Virginia.

0:39.9

So this is a very special week for him.

0:42.7

And we'll get to that just here in a second.

0:45.5

But first off, E.J., we talked about it off air just a few minutes ago.

0:50.2

Man, that Syracuse loss, another heartbreak.

0:53.5

What are your takeaways from watching that game?

0:57.6

Well, I actually have a lot of good takeaways.

0:59.6

I know we spoke last week about what we really had to do was contain Dunjy.

1:03.3

And I felt like we did a pretty good job of that.

1:05.6

I mean, he didn't really do anything to hurt us with his legs.

1:08.0

I know he was pulled from the game in the fourth quarter.

1:10.6

But while he was there, he wasn't really effective. So I really am happy with what I saw from the

1:16.1

defense, and we were able to move the ball, something that, I mean, over the last couple weeks,

1:20.4

we're really starting to pick up steam and momentum on the offensive side, but probably more

1:25.4

noticeably on offense. And I'm just, I just like the way

1:27.9

we move the ball. I think, but I think of the progress that we're going, I mean, we really have a lot

1:32.0

to look forward to the season. We've spoken a couple times about the resiliency of this team.
