Welcome to the Breakpoint podcast. I'm Shane Morris, and I'm coming to you from Florida, where we're already well into the reopening of everything after the COVID-19 lockdown. And it's been anything but convenient. In fact, for some of the businesses and ministries I know of in my area, it's been downright destructive. But it's easy for us to forget, I think, as Americans,

that this was absolutely a global pandemic. And lockdowns were also a global phenomenon. And that

means that they've affected the work of ministries abroad, including one, my guest and I want to talk

about today. I'm joined by Jonathan Grooms, a Colson Fellows participant who's coming to us from

Jordan. Jonathan is the president of Global Partners in Peace and Development, a group that joins

with communities in need around the world to share God's love through meeting basic needs,

especially for the orphaned, the widowed, the hungry, the thirsty, and refugees. This is real James

And for the past month plus, I believe, Jonathan and his family until very recently, have

impact. Our work here in a lot of different ways, especially not being able to get out and people

being in lockdown in their homes, especially for the first four days of lockdown. No one was

absolutely able to leave their home at all. And at that time, we really began to make contact with our government officials
