Godfrey, what are your thoughts on the Republican National Convention?

Oh God, really?

I haven't seen a single shred of political coverage.

If you want to avoid politics altogether, I think you should cover

college football because the way the conventions go and the way the general

election and all that, I have been away from home for like nine days now doing college football things and I wake

up every day and look at Twitter and don't understand the jokes, which is really not a bad way

to be.

No, no, it's in the moment it feels weird like,

oh God, I miss something now, I'll never catch up now,

but then you realize, oh, you know, those jokes will die in about three hours

and then the next round of jokes will start and it's all you just miss a cycle and

then everything's fine. Probably the most controversial meme going in my life right now is that I've

noticed the the hashtag talk about question structure is on the decline. I'm happy to report that

the talk about is on the decline. Although when I hear it at all the different

media events that I've been going to people don't seem to want to shame it quite the way I do.

So that makes me worry that it's become acceptable, which is terrible.

I don't know.

I think Twitter shaming probably had a role in its decline,

so everybody's too, you don't need to shame it anymore.

They're afraid of being ashamed and that's enough.
