Hello. Greetings from Cyberdelic Space. This is Lorenzo, and I'm your host here in the psychedelic salon.

And today I'm going to depart from playing previously recorded lectures and instead pass along a few of the things that I've been thinking about and doing lately.

For one thing, I'm announcing the publication of a new novel I wrote.

And before you groan and think that I'm trying to sell you something,

you should know that I'm giving away free PDF copies of the book.

Even though the paperback version is available on Amazon,

I would prefer that you download the PDF version and save a tree.

Or at least a tree limb.

You see, the purpose of the book is to get you thinking about some very important questions.

The tool I've decided to use for that mission is a science fiction story.

Hopefully that will be an easier way for me to explain some of the issues about

artificial intelligence that you're going to be faced with very soon.

So, you ask, what does AI have to do with psychedelics?

Well, let's begin with the person who most likely brought you here to the salon,

Terence McKenna.

Now, if you've listened to some of the more than 300 podcasts that I've posted of Terence McKenna,

then you are well aware of his ideas about what he thought would be the end of human history in December of 2012.

But Terence died in April 2000, so we'll never know what he thinks about 2012 today.

My guess is that he would say he got the date right, but the cause of the end of human history

wasn't exactly what he was thinking of. In fact, I published an essay about this titled
