Summary

Guest speaker: Terence McKenna PROGRAM NOTES: [NOTE: All quotations are by Terence McKenna.] “That's the key thing that the archaic world knew that we don't know: How do you live in equilibrium so that your children may live in equilibrium, because otherwise you get a cycle started that's going to shove somebody over the cliff. And that somebody in the present case is either ourselves, our children, or their children. It's no further away in time than that.” “We love to congratulate ourselves on the forward-leaning liberal society that we live in, and the truth is it's a bunch of rattle snake-handling fundamentalists that are much closer to Stalin than they are to FDR or anybody else like that.” “If you look at the fossil record, 95% of all the species that have ever lived on the Earth are extinct. From that point of view it looks as though biology is a process for producing extinction.” “You talk about a well-kept secret that's only two tokes away? How do they keep the lid on this? That's the miracle to me. How do they keep the lid on this?” [smoked NN-DMT] “These chemicals, these plant hallucinogens, are pheromones laden with messages for humanity, but you have to pick up the telephone.” “I think the world is growing more psychedelic every day. I'm completely hopeful. . . . This is how it should be. This is what it's like when a species prepares to depart for hyperspace.” Download MP3 PCs – Right click, select option Macs – Ctrl-Click, select option Hallucinogens and Shamanism by Michael J. This is Lorenzo and I'm your host here in the psychedelic salon.

0:23.6

And I want to begin by thanking some of our fellow saloners who have recently made contributions

0:28.5

to help offset some of our monthly expenses here in the salon.

0:32.8

And these nice people are Owen H., Auden H, Adam B, Flores M, and another anonymous Bitcoin donor.

0:45.3

Whomever you are, I thank you and all of our other supporters.

0:48.9

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

0:51.5

And for those who have been warning me away from Bitcoin, well, I hear you,

0:57.0

but there's a lot of activity now taking place in what I choose to call the Bitcoin aftermarket,

1:03.0

which is beginning to service businesses. While we all know that the feds took down Silk Road,

1:10.0

of course it only took a couple of days for it to get back online in the Deep Web.

1:14.2

But we also have now learned that the government is going to convert that huge cash of Bitcoins that they stole in their raid of Silk Road.

1:24.6

And they're going to convert it into U.S. dollars. So in a sense, the U.S. government has

1:30.4

already begun using Bitcoin itself. On top of that, I've also read that the porn industry has

1:36.8

begun accepting Bitcoin, plus there are now at least two Las Vegas casinos that are accepting it.

1:43.8

So now that the U.S. government, the porn industry, and Las Vegas are all on the Bitcoin

1:49.0

bandwagon, I have a hunch that Bitcoin is here to stay.

1:54.0

It's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Now, in response to some comments that have been posted and emails that I've received,
