As I'm coming at you here guys, gorgeous day outside, let's go ahead and get into it, no announcement so let's go and I thought I'd start with this story and a lot of you guys sent this to me.

I felt it was like really kind of under reported in the national news and I'm not sure if it was out of religious sensibilities or not but let's go to India where six people were killed including three children.

And they're describing this yes when their throats were slit by kite strings during a weekend festival Indian in the Indian state of Gujarat.

The casualties occurred at the annual Uttarayan festival where revelers are known to engage in kite fights in which competitors aim to sever the kite strings of other opponents.

So they fly around they try to bring the others kite down while the problem is they often coat the kite strings with glass powder or metal making them razor sharp, which you would think because the goal is to cut other strings right.

And apparently it never fucking occurred to anybody that maybe this is a little bit of a hazard.

Local official said several victims blood to death after sitting or watching oh look at the pretty kites and all of a sudden a string just reached around their neck and slit their throats.

A further 176 participants were injured after suffering cuts and falls while flying kites.

I'm looking at a picture of these kite strings right now.

But yeah, they have some of the details like for example a two-year-old girl was riding with her father on his bicycle in apparently nearby Bob Nagar city when her neck was cut by a kite string and she started bleeding out and died at a local hospital.

Another incident a three-year-old girl was walking home with her mother when a cord sliced her neck and that was in a different town.

Vis Nagar in the city of Rock Jot police say seven-year-old reshop verma was riding with his parents on their bicycle when a kite string wrapped around his neck resulting in his death.

So what did they just have like frigging death kites flying all over this province or what.

Similar accidents were reported in the Vada Dara Kuch and Gandhenargar districts.
