coronavirus updates and information and as of right now this podcast

recording we have 2,312,069 coronavirus cases worldwide with 158,885 deaths and that does include our deaths and in the United States

we have a total case number of 728,293 confirmed cases with our total death

count in the United States standing at 38,244. Okay, so turning to our live updates page, lots of going on

today of course. And what we've talked about in the past is kind of coming to and

it's how we're going to start like kind of reopening the country state by state

and how exactly it's going to happen. Now, starting in New York, which of course has been the

epicenter of the outbreak in the United States, Governor Andrew Cuomo did say today on Saturday

that hospitalizations in his state had begun to decrease,

but added that his state's economy could not fully reopen without more widespread testing, which would require both supplies and an operational capacity

that the health system there does not currently have.

Now as Cuomo, Governor Cuomo and other governors considered easing social distancing

restrictions, new estimates by researchers at Harvard University

suggests that the United States cannot safely reopen

unless it conducts more than three times the number of coronavirus tests it is

currently administrating over the next month.

Now an average of 146,000 people per day

have been tested for the coronavirus nationally

so far in April.
