And the New York Times is reporting at least 10 people are dead and several injured after a gunman

opened fire during a service at a synagogue on Saturday morning this morning.

Two law enforcement officials have identified the suspect as someone named Robert D. Bowers,

46 years old.

Those officials requested anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss this investigation.

The name is all over social media anyway already.

And speaking of social media, social media activity appears to link Bowers with a history of virulent anti-Semitism filled with slurs and references to anti-Jewish conspiracy theories.

The city councilwoman for this district named Erica Strasberger says that Mr. Bauer surrendered to the police after being barricaded in the building and was taken to the hospital.
