Hello, I'm Dorian Linsky of The Guardian among other places. Welcome to the first edition

of Remaniacs, a podcast for everyone who won't just roll over, give up and get over Brexit.

And I'm Ian Dunn, I'm the editor of Politics.co.uk and the author of Brexit, what the hell

happens now. And each week we're going to be looking at the latest developments as Brexit

unfolds and we pursue our very exciting future establishing a trade deal with New Zealand.

We'll see what Brexit is doing to Britain and to our collective minds. We'll look for

a path through the chaos and uncertainty it's unleashed. And in coming weeks we'll

be talking to writers, commentators, politicians, economists and all kinds of experts, because

we've definitely not had enough of experts. And we'll even try to help you talk Brexit

with your hardcore lever relatives. Together we can try to own the remoning and maybe

cheer each other up a bit. And also we have a Peter Collins here who is a

former business editor of the Economist and our resident Tory Remainer.

That's right, I just want to make it really clear that I think Theresa May and the

Conservatives are the worst bunch of politicians in Britain except for all the rest. It's

what Churchill said about democracy, it's the worst system, come up it the way you

are bringing endorsements. Well, exactly, I don't believe in bringing

endorsements to you. Not anymore.

OK, one of the worst things about Brexit and there are plenty to choose from is the

suppression of debate. If you dare to criticise or raise doubts, then you're a saboteur

and enemy of the people who want Britain to fail. We want Remainer to be a space

where we can talk candidly about what's happened and what might happen next.
