The recent leak of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito's draft ruling

on the most important case in years has the entire nation preparing for a future

where the federal government no longer guarantees a woman's right to access abortion services.

Because the Supreme Court looks set to overturn Roe vs Wade, the landmark case that legalized

abortion in America in 1973.

That had me digging through my old interviews.

Because five years ago I sat down for a conversation with Sarah Weddington.

In the 1970s she was the lawyer who represented Jane Roe at the Supreme Court.

First in number 70-18, Roe against Wade.

Mrs. Weddington you may proceed whenever you're ready.

She was 26 years old.
