Summary

On today’s show, Pat reacts to the Washington Post article detailing the sexual harassment and misogynistic behavior exhibited by the Washington Football Team Name TBD. Pat is also joined by former General Manager of the Cleveland Browns, former NFL Scout, assistant to Bill Belichick while with the New England Patriots, 3x Super Bowl Champion and friend of the program, Michael Lombardi. Pat and Michael chat about the relationship between Cam Newton and Bill Belichick and why Michael thinks it’s going to be successful. He also drops the bomb that Deshaun Watson is likely to get a massive extension here within the coming days, and gives his thoughts on why the deal with Dak didn’t get done in Dallas. Pat and Michael also cover the AFL, and who he likes gambling wise for the Memorial Golf Tournament (3:23-20:38). Next is another installment of McAfee & Hawk Sports Talk where Pat and AJ speculate on what could potentially happen in Washington (before the Washington Post article came out) if they think Dan Snyder is going to lose the team, Zion having to leave the NBA bubble for a family emergency, Tiger surging at the Memorial Tournament in AJ’s backyard, and everything else going on in the sports world (22:24-1:32:35). To close out the show, 2x Pro Bowl, 2017 Defensive MVP of the Pro Bowl, All-Pro, former Linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, and current NFLPA Vice President, Lorenzo Alexander joins the program. Pat and Lorenzo chat about the upcoming discussions between the NFL and NFLPA and where he thinks they stand with return to play protocol, if he thinks teams will report by the July 28th date, what kind of things he expects the NFL and NFLPA to negotiate about, why he thinks the Bills are still the team to beat in the AFC East this year even with the Patriots addition of Cam Newton, and why he wants the Bills front office to know that he’ll be ready to sign if they’re going to make a deep run into the playoffs (1:34:40-1:46:01). Hello, it is Friday July 17th. I can't thank you enough for choosing to allow this show to penetrate your ear holes.

If you like this show by the end of it, go ahead and tell a friend maybe say,

0:12.3

hey, you should listen to Pat McVease show 2.0. If you don't, just act like it never, ever happened.

Here we are in July 17th. Obviously, it feels like time is moving both slow and fast at the same

0:25.1

day and time because we're in a much different world than we ever have been. That's the year 2020.

0:31.9

But we are one day after the Washington Post reported something at 5.28 pm.

0:38.9

Interesting timing for the call in the drop obviously. It had been hyped up for the last

0:43.8

couple days. A lot of people from the DMV area DC Maryland and Virginia said, hey, there is a big news

0:50.4

story coming. That big news story was not the name change, but instead an article in a Washington

0:58.3

post that alleges that 15 women have bravely stepped forward and talked to them about being

1:05.4

sexually harassed in the Washington Redskins organization. They described a terrible workplace

1:12.8

environment, a toxic culture to the untie degree. And hopefully, open a lot of people's eyes about

1:23.6

what can't happen at the workplace, what shouldn't happen at the workplace, and how you should not act

1:28.7

ever towards anybody and especially lovely women in our society. Now, there's a lot of things

1:39.4

alleged to be in that article that were not in that article. The internet was abuzz with sources

1:47.6

from the area who had what they believed was inside knowledge on what was coming out in the article.

1:55.6

Sex parties, drug and alcohol abuse, J. Gruden doing J. Gruden stuff, I guess. And also a potential

2:04.2

ref payment scandal that would have rattled the entire NFL. It was being alleged on the internet

2:11.6

before the article came out that in the article, we would learn about dance nighter paying refs,

2:17.6

potentially one ref up to two million dollars, which would have been something that the NFL

2:24.0

would have struggled to get past, to be honest. The sanctity of the game cannot be compromised,

2:29.8

especially in the sports gambling world that we're in. So obviously, that was not in the article,
