Summary

On today’s show, Pat and the boys recap everything from a CRAZY NFL Wildcard weekend. In the wake of the Vikings/Saints game, Pat unveils his plan for new NFL overtime rules that set the internet on fire yesterday. They also do a deep dive into the game and chat about why they think the Vikings are going to be a very tough out, and why Kirk Cousins getting the monkey off his back could spell trouble for the rest of the NFC. They also cover the Titans/Pats tilt and discuss whether or not it is in fact the end of the Patriots dynasty with resident Masshole, Boston Connor. Pat also breaks down what he thinks will happen after the season with Brady, will all signs seemingly pointing to him signing with the LA Chargers. They discuss whether the Jadeveon Clowney hit on Carson Wentz was dirty, and whether or not the Seahawks are a team to be feared moving forward, look ahead to the AFC Divisional round matchups, and share some thoughts about Deshaun Watson and Josh Allen. Later, 3x Super Bowl Champion, 2x Pro Bowler, chili connoisseur and friend of the show, Mark Schlereth joins the program. He and Pat discuss the Cowboys culture and whether a coaching change will help fix that, and Pat and Stink dive into all the big moments of this past weekends games and look ahead to some of the key matchups in the games next week (36:17-49:46). Digs also calls into the show to discuss the Jason Garrett drama and the Mike McCarthy hire, and how his earlier predictions of Garrett crying in Jerry Jones’ office may not have been too far off. Today’s show is a loaded one. Come and laugh with us, cheers. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Last year, Patrick Mahomes didn't even get a chance to get back on the field because the overtime went down and scored on the first drive.

1:07.0

This year, Drew Breeze doesn't even get a chance to get back on the field, there's no rebuttal like in beer pong with the overtime rules.

If you lose going toss, that often scores your crap out of luck. Our answer is this.

1:19.0

You play an extra 10-minute quarter. Yes, full classic football, tackling, snapping, throwing, catching, running, kicking.

1:29.0

And after that 10-minute quarter, whoever is in the lead wins. If it's tied, guess what? We have more.

1:37.0

We have a two point conversion shootout, sudden death style, one offense and one defense is on the one side, one offense and one defense is on the other side.

1:46.0

This side goes, if they score and this team doesn't score, congratulations game over. If they both score, let's do it again.

1:55.0

If they both don't score, let's do it again. Three max. Think about that moment. If one side doesn't score, the other side does score.

2:03.0

Them sprinting to each other in the middle of the field, grand celebration as if it was a penalty kick, shootout and soccer sprinting yelling.

2:11.0

We did it. We did it. We played five quarters. We couldn't find a victor, but our two point conversion shootout, sudden death victory was awesome.

2:19.0

Let's say after three, we don't have an outright winner. Let's say they both scored all three times. They both didn't score all three times. It doesn't matter how it happens. There's three.

2:28.0

Now what do you do, Pat? Why have the answer for you? Have you ever heard Alexander Hamilton? Do you know what Alexander Hamilton created? It was the duel.

2:36.0

After those two point conversions, if we still don't have a victor after five quarters, if we still don't have a victor after three, two point conversion shootout, sudden death style type things, you go to a kicker duel.

2:48.0

Each team's kicker and his holder go out from the 50. Well, it's from the 40, but it's a 50 yard kick. One kicker kicks it. If he makes it, the other kicker must make it.
