Summary

On today’s show, Pat, Darius Butler, AJ Hawk, and the boys overreact to everything that happened in week 17 of the NFL season and all the different playoff scenarios for both the NFC and AFC, and look ahead to some of the CFP games this week, while also previewing tonight’s Monday Night Football game between the Lions and 49ers that coincidentally means nothing. Joining the progrum to chat about all the different injury news, playoff clinching scenarios, and what changes might eventually be made in terms of coaching and GM’s is ESPN Senior NFL Insider, Adam Schefter. Next, 8x Super Bowl Champion, current Head Coach of the University of North Carolina, the GOAT, Bill Belichick joins the show to check in about what he’s been up to getting North Carolina prepared for next season, situational football in the NFL, resting players after already clinching a playoff spot, and much much more. Later, 3x DPOY, Texans Ring of Honor member, future First Ballot Hall of Famer, analyst for the NFL on CBS, JJ Watt joins the progrum to give his biggest takeaway’s from this past week in the NFL and weighs in on the whole Colts situation. Make sure to subscribe to youtube.com/thepatmcafeeshow or watch on ESPN (12-2 EDT), ESPN’s Youtube (12-3 EDT), or ESPN+. Football!

It is amazing, and obviously the college football playoffs pick right back up on this beautiful week of football mattering. Now, there is a football

0:23.4

game tonight to wrap up week 17 of the NFL schedule and it means absolutely nothing. That is

0:29.2

just a matter of fact. The Lions are taking on the Niners and looking ahead to this season,

0:33.7

you would think that this would be a showcase. Obviously, a rematch from last year's

0:38.2

playoffs between these two teams. Two teams that are going to be vying for the number one

0:42.7

overall seed. So let's put them on Monday night football. It's going to be great. I don't blame

0:46.2

them. And obviously, the Niners season has gone, how it's gone. And now the Lions have worked

0:50.5

themselves into a point where their second to last game doesn't matter. Now, for a couple teams, their last game does not matter. There's already been, you know, a number

0:57.9

one seed locked in in the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs, and there's been a number two seed locked

1:02.5

in in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles, and A.J. Brown came out and said one half of the hammered Cowboys AP tone. That he was going to rest up, heal up, and get ready for that.

1:11.7

Okay, so AJ Brown, see, you can count me out for week 18.

1:14.5

Okay, if we're already going to be locked in to a number two overall seed.

1:17.5

The number one overall seat on the NFC side will be sided next week whenever the Vikings

1:22.4

and lions do battle.

1:24.3

So if you think about the season shaping up, we got the number one seed on the

1:29.5

AFC side. We got six AFC playoff spots wide over. And then on the NFC side, damn near the same

1:36.1

thing, except for the number one seed, still up for grabs. And there's going to be a team that's

1:39.6

going to have 13 or 14 wins that is going to be a number five seed playing in Super Wild Card weekend on the NFC side.
