I was on Houston City Council in the early 2000s from 01 to 07 and interestingly some of you may not, I was in the seat that Sheila Jackson Lee had held.

Yeah, oddly enough.

And it was a citywide city council seed in Houston.

And what I always found interesting was we had a staff of people who did constituent work.

if done right should not be glamorous

it should be execution of functions

so we had a really good team of people and so if somebody called in and said

our stop sign got knocked down and there's kids playing out there we would get the

public works folks on there and our staffer would drive there

and meet them and take a picture so the neighborhood knew.

Number one, the sign is fixed. Number two, that we got that done because other people didn't and

and that's that's your stock and trade you've got to be able to perform most congressmen get reelected for and or any money to develop any name ID and number two
