So it's crazy. So this crazy story that my friend Anna Johnson in Louisiana told me about, and she's really plugged into the political system there, and she said, this is the big story in Louisiana right now.

You've got a federal criminal investigation and now trial going on in New Orleans that everyone is talking about as part of an FBI sting called Operation Side Swipe. It's a long-running

over 10 years, staged car crash and insurance fraud scheme orchestrated by four or more attorneys in New Orleans.

The theory goes, the attorneys would hire over a dozen what are called slammers,

who would slam into the 18-wheeler's when they entered the I-10.

Over the last 10-plus years, their job was to fill the car with passengers,

more passengers, more injuries,

steer them into 18-wheeler's on the New Orleans area highways, and then working with trial

injury lawyers or plaintiff's injuries lawyers, sign them up for lawsuits with big insurance

checks. Two of the attorneys, one of them, Vanessa Mata, former Hollywood stuntman, stuntman turned attorney and Jason Giles of the King law firm, names that are well known there.

Well, we hear testimony from one of them who's turned, or some of them who've turned state's witness so that they can plead out because they committed a crime, that they were given Rolexes and promised big payouts and cars and all these sorts of things.

There were supposedly doctors involved and they're getting paid to drive up the quote-unquote actual medical damages.

But then just when you thought this thing couldn't get crazier,

in 2020 the murder of Cornelius Garrisonison a 36 year old alleged hammer someone who's being

used in these schemes who had begun to cooperate with the FBI and he gets assassinated

Renee i'll let you take it from there i mean can you just even imagine and and i know this is probably not the direction that you think about, but Michael, I think about my truckers that I've got truckers that have filed RICO lawsuits over these staged accidents because initially that was some of the only legal recourses we had.

We since had to file legislation to try to find other ways to get at some of these people.
