I think not as many as news directors believe, but I will say this because I have had an

ongoing argument with news

directors for almost 20 years about this subject. Today there was a school

shooting in Georgia and the news media, across the board covers school shootings like it is a single most

important thing in the world and everything else gets dropped. If there was a

school shooting during the Super Bowl you'd miss the Super Bowl. I believe this is my opinion not theirs that this encourages more

school shootings. Nobody shoots people in the school without a manifesto and an ideology or a concept that they want shared with other people.

Killing people at the school is not the actual purpose.

It's very rarely the case, Columbine being one of them, and the first of the major, you know,

blockbuster school shootings, and let's call it what it is.
