I spent a lot of time thinking this week.

You know, it's literally a matter of days since our president was shot in the face. You've seen the reenactment, you've seen the graphic,

by all accounts he should be dead. By all accounts, it should have been broadcast on national television the most gruesome

murder of our former and future president.

Do you realize the trauma to our nation from that?

That's what was planned.

That's what was allowed to happen.

It's by a pure freak accident or the hand of God. You decide

that Donald Trump is still allowed. And I have spent a lot of time this week, particularly, thinking hard about my own role in this country and its direction and my willingness to do everything

I possibly can to not just win this election but to change things to fix things.

I will tell you just six years on city council taught me something.

It's much easier to go along to get along.

And everybody says, oh, that's true. You got to stand for conviction and

principle. Yeah, okay. Well, hey, how about on this thing right over here that you know

is wrong? Oh, I yeah. It's tough. it's hard and and people who do stand on principle you got to be careful
