Hello, What Next Plus fam. Did I not tell you we would be back in December with another episode of our Slate Plus content? I'm here, but it's going to be a little bit different than usual. Usually I'm here bringing you the search, our weekly Slate Plus political roundup, but it is party season right now.

That means like Christmas cookies and mold wine and lacquas, all that stuff. But for us here

at Slate, it means karaoke. So we're going to do something different. We're going to have a

karaoke party. And I've brought my friend Anna Sale to join us.

Like, this is not normal what next.

This is like weirdly unhinged what next.

I'm underdress.

So Anna, of course, hosts Death, Sex, and Money, one of my all-time favorite podcasts.

And something you may not know about Anna is that you're a karaoke demon.

And like, I kind of want to know the story of how and why you became this amazing karaoke human.

Oh, I don't know if I'm a demon. I am like just an Uber appreciator of the form. And I feel like for me, I really, in all of its ways, I love the like getting a private room with a couple of friends in doing

karaoke in that way. I also have the really vivid memories of being in a bowling alley

in Hartford, Connecticut, where it was like, you know, karaoke night on a Friday. And one of those moments when what seems like kind of like a shy person who you'd never think

would voluntarily step up to sing.

And she grabs the mic and just makes the whole bowling alley stop everything and cry because she had such

an incredible powerful voice. I just think it's- Not woman was Anna Sale. Well, I wish it was. I wish it was.
