One of Canada's best kept secrets is the Nahani Valley in Canada's

Northwest Territories. Fadors Travel Guide writes, Dark Mountain Spires Pierce The fog against a steely sky, making Nahani National Park seem more akin to

more door than Canada. The park can only be accessed by boat or float plane by intrepid travelers seeking to conquer the rapids of the Nahani River,

or summit the formidable surk of the unclimables.

Its impenetrable forest and mountains may be the primary reason to Hani

seas limited visitors but perhaps it's also because the park is shrouded in

macabre legends befitting of its menacing landscape.

The supernatural lore has earned Nahani the moniker The Valley of the Headless Men, and many

believe this UNESCO World Heritage site to be haunted.

I recently caught up with a filmmaker and explorer

who's planning an expedition to the Nahani region

in hopes of learning more about the Valley's many mysteries and perhaps even solving some of its

riddles. Mark McPherson is a director, filmmaker, an explorer. He's always been fascinated

with the experiences and history of exploration through

travel and creative studies. He's the creative director at Fresh Cut TV in Calgary, Alberta,

and an expert in digital media strategy and production.
