The Senate Republicans just told us all who they are.

You'll recall Chuck Grassley had said back in January that and I quote

passing a tax bill that makes the president look good mailing out checks before

the election means he could be reelected and then we won't extend the 2017

Trump tax cuts. Right. Those tax cuts are expiring shortly by the way. The

House actually voted a bill to essentially give low-income

families a child tax credit. You know, it's a subsidy. I mean, it's a tax credits are money that you get even if you

don't pay income taxes

it's about eighteen hundred dollars per child and goes up year after year to match

inflation and all that kind of thing

when we had that child tax credit from 2021 to 2023,

it reduced poverty in the United States,

childhood poverty, by 50% by about half.

16 million children were lifted out of poverty as a result of this tax credit, this child

tax credit.

And when Democrats tried to revive it earlier this year,

this is when Chuck Grassley first came out, you know, the Republicans said no. So now they're

trying again and they just pass the House of Representatives

which is pretty amazing i mean it got Republican votes as well as Democratic votes

but in the senate it died
