0:12.8	talking through the general mechanics of how the pre-draft process worked for teams.
0:17.6	I was only a few years into the beat, and I was still learning what took place under
0:21.2	the hood when it came to vetting potential draft picks.
0:24.6	And when we got to the subject of player interviews, I still remember one particular
0:28.3	exchange vividly.
0:30.1	The executive said to me, sometimes you have to kind of shake things up, throw them off
0:33.5	kilter.
0:34.5	And I asked, like what?
0:37.3	So he went down a list of uncomfortable questions that he thought players were rarely
0:41.3	prepared for.
0:42.5	He mentioned asking a prospect if he thought the head coach's wife was attractive.
0:47.1	He'd asked a player about cheating on his girlfriend with a tutor or how often he watched
0:51.2	pornography.
0:52.8	And then the executive recounted a specific instance where an assistant coach had sat quietly
0:57.9	listening to a group interview, and then suddenly interjected with a question about whether
1:02.6	this particular player had ever committed a specific sexual act on another man.
1:07.9	That latter instance was recounted with a deep belly laugh by the executive.
1:12.7	Now, that moment is relevant today because the league took arguably its biggest step yet
1:18.4	in trying to remove some of the unchecked humiliation that's occurred in the draft process.
