Summary

It's impossible to complain about the AFC playoff format no matter how the owners vote Friday.  It seems clear, the Chiefs will play the Raiders for the right to be the #1 seed in the AFC... but may have to play the AFC Championship game at a neutral site if it works out KC gets there.  But you can't be one of these people that didn't want the Bills-Bengals game to be played Tuesday or Wednesday this past week and now complain about what's going on.    To be clear.  The Bills and Bengals wanted their game postponed Monday night and made it clear for days they were not interested in re-starting the game.  Deal with it.      Texas basketball coach Chris Beard is fired after a domestic violence situation a few weeks ago.  I've got a report from a college basketball writer suggesting two names on the short list to replace him that will shock you.      And Lee Sterling from www.paramountsports.com is here with the point spread picks.  Let's roll.

I think I've mentioned before the couple things that I missed doing a podcast that I was able to do on live radio is cover breaking news.

0:19.0

When things are happening and they're evolving, there were days where it was

0:21.4

just an adrenaline rush to be on the air and have things breaking and moving and moving parts and

0:26.7

handed notes and all these things are going on and you're broadcasting live. I absolutely love that

0:31.1

and felt like it was one of the strengths of what I'm capable of doing as a broadcaster. So I missed

0:36.9

that. And this would have been a great week for that. I mean, this would have been a great week for that. The other thing I miss from doing live radio is interaction with callers, listeners who call in and have an opinion and able to go back and forth. Those are the two things, the only two things that I miss, really, about what it was that I did for so many years.

0:56.0

There was also a lot of monotony involved into hosting a show that was four hours long,

1:02.9

five days a week for 23 years. There would be segments you didn't want to do, things that you had

1:07.7

to do, things that became routine, mundane, that you repeated over and

1:11.0

over and over the course of four hours, and those things would drive you crazy. So there's a

1:15.0

give and take here. Obviously, I love what I'm doing. This is a week where it would have been fun

1:20.2

to be on live radio because of all of this insane breaking news that's just been taking

1:24.9

place day after day after day with massive stories. We have the

1:28.7

Speaker of the House votes that have been taking place, and this has been wild. We have the

1:33.1

arrest of the man now accused of the murders of the four college students in Idaho. We have

1:40.6

Damar Hamlin and his updates that were going on daily. We have the NFL changing its rules in the middle of play here.

1:46.4

We have so many things that have been going on that are just big, massive stories taking place.

1:51.3

It would have been fun to be live on the radio.

1:54.3

So if you're wondering why I haven't spent more time, maybe on the, for example, the murders in Idaho, there's just not much I can give you there.

2:04.3

I just, there isn't much you can do on a podcast that adds to what you're seeing in the news

2:08.9

coverage.
