Welcome to the Audible, presented by Trader Joe's. I'm Stuart Mandel, joined as always by Bruce Feldman for another loaded episode.

Bruce, we're going to talk to our good friend and frequent guest of the Audible, Tim Brando, in a little bit on a whole variety of subjects related to our current state of events here and how they connect to college athletics.

But a couple stories we want to hit on first.

Our friend Brett McMurphy did a survey on stadium about playoff expansion, and the results were, frankly, a little bit surprising.

He talked to 112 of the 130 ADs in the FBS.

88% of the athletic directors want an 8-team playoff when the current contract ends in 2025.

If I had guessed beforehand, I mean, I know the whole group of five was going to say, say yes, they want it, right?

So there's 50% right there.

But would you have guessed 88% overall?

I would have probably guessed 70%.

Yeah.

I wouldn't have guessed 88.

Now, one thing I wonder about is there is going to be, there are already people who are money hungry.

They're going to know coming out of a pandemic.

I think that probably does up it quite a bit.

Yeah, I mean, for sure, if you're anticipating some financial hits over the next couple

years, the idea of expanding and getting a monstrous paycheck, maybe changing people's minds even in the

current thing.

But what it tells me most of all is there's one conference, the SEC, that has no interest

in any team playoff, at least the last time we asked them about it.

I would have thought that the other conferences were more split on it. Now, we don't know

out of those ones, like, who are the 18 missing ADs here? I don't know. But that tells me at this

...
