So Eric, let's get into it.

Josh Heeple says he feels like it's probably the best option or path forward for the college football

playoff to expand to 24 teams.

This actually goes against what his own conference commissioner, not that they have to be joined

at the hip, has proposed because the last time conference expansion oroff expansion rather was in the news it was well the big 10 in the

SEC can't agree because the big 10 wants 24 but the SEC only wants 16 and and he says

quote the way college football is constantly changing that probably makes the most

sense in reference

to a 24 team playoff. I think that that is wrong, misguided, incorrect, but I would care for

your thoughts on the matter. Yeah, you know, it's a part of a sit down he had with Chris Loeb on three,

and I mean, they discussed like 17 different agendas, and this is at the very bottom. And I'm just kind of scrolling through it right now. And it's almost like a subtext. Like, oh, yeah, he said this about this when I asked about this. Not a whole lot of context there. I mean, I disagree. I think 24 teams is way too much. And, you know, yeah, as far as being aligned with your conference commissioner, I mean, Greg Sanky made the SEC go to nine games and keep the power four component there, non-conference power four component there. I mean, has the conference playoffs expanded yet? If they have, I haven't heard about it. So, I mean, you know, Greg Sanky, how about you do your job, right? I mean, he's not doing his job right now. So 24, I think is way too much. I think the compromise there should be 16.

I just, I don't think 24 would devalue the regular season. I think expanding as well has made the regular season so much fun. So I don't think it's that component. I just think that, I mean, goodness gracious, there's not 24 teams capable of winning a national championship, and I'm all about matchos.

Plus, with the 24, depending on, I guess, who you look at and what all that is, there'd be 8 teams getting a buy. What are we doing here? That's ridiculous. 18 shouldn't get a buy in the first round. I'm all for those top seats getting to host a playoff game. I think that's what it's all about. but I'm not for eight teams getting a buy and not playing.

Also, this would extend, which I mean, it's already kind of extending towards February next year anyway, feels like this would extend the season even longer. And it needs to be condensed. And I need to be extended longer. You need to start the playoffs after conference championship Saturday. So there's a lot of holes into this. I mean, everybody's entitled to their own opinion. I don't agree with the 24 teams. I think if you're going to expand, go to 16. I'm all for that, but I think 24 is way, way too much. I wouldn't expand to 16 personally. And I was concerned about the 12 team devaluing the regular season.

I was too, man, to be completely honest, I was too. I was like, no, man, it's going to take away from the regular season. But that 24 season, man, when they expanded and Tennessee was in it, like, it was like a playoff game every, like from the third Saturday and October on. And like, it was fun for me.
