And now the weather. Scattered showers will give way to more scattered showers, but there may be a period in between where it's just grey.

It's always grey, isn't it? That's why I travel with Monzo. I can use my card to spend abroad with no fees, so I can plonk myself on a beach far away from grey and spend with my Monzo card like I never left home.

Morning, everybody. Welcome along to your free podcast for today. Last day of the month, 31st of January, tomorrow, 1st of February. And then as we race through, it's unbelievable, isn't it? We get ever closer to my live date at the Leicester Square Theatre, which is very exciting, very, very exciting. And who's been in the papers over the weekend?

0:55.4

Well, actually, there was a couple of stories. First of all, they were still trying to resurrect the Rylan and link him into drugs because he asked for some gear. I mean, to be honest with it, all the stuff going on in the world, and that's the best that they can come up with. It was all a bit feeble. I mean, there is no suggestion that he's ever taken drugs or ordered drugs or done anything.

0:54.4

It was just a bit of a non-story. I was sort of in two minds to start with thinking, you know, if they'd got a picture of him snorting cocaine, well, I can understand it, but they haven't. He just sort of said, oh, have you got some gear? Well, a vodka to me is gear, as far as I'm concerned. And then there was another story, even funnier.

Daniela Westbrook. She's been replaced in EastEnders, her character, by somebody else, who a year ago, she wrote to this actress and said, you've done really well, thank you for keeping the character alive. She's obviously a bit bewildered by, she obviously thinks it's a real person. And so anyway, so now it's been agreed that this other actress has got the gig. Daniela Westbrook in the paper today, I'm seeking legal advice. What are you on about? What do you mean? I mean, the other actress played Sam Mitchell before. So, and she's seeking legal advice. I'm sorry, Donnie,

2:02.4

you don't own the character. You're just an actress. And as she said, she's dropped herself in it.

2:07.1

She said, I completed two contracts. I thought, yeah, and that's it finished. You're only there

2:11.6

for the length of your contract, apart from that, bugger off somewhere else. It's a simple matter

2:15.9

of they replaced people. They did it. I seem to remember

2:18.3

they did it in. What soap did they do it in? Might have been in Emmerdale or something like that. Whatever it was, the character turned gay and the actor playing him, who was only young, said, I don't want to play a gay character. So they found somebody else to play it. Yeah, it was in the days when people are a bit funny about, you know, you can't have a gay character in there,

2:16.8

and he thought that it would.

2:36.2

Nobody cares.

2:37.5

If anything, you get loads and loads of coverage and then you can pull women if you're into that or whatever you want to go for. But, you know, for Daniela Westbrook to say, my legal team, I thought, well, you waste your money, love. The BBC are telling, excuse me, we own EastEnders, we own all these characters, you were employed for a contract, you did it, now bugger off. Go somewhere and also, I mean, why, I mean, Australian soaps are always recasting. You know, in fact, they did it in Coronation Street. Somebody went upstairs as one person, came down as another. Tracy Barlow. Hello, Tracy.
