Hello and welcome to best Laid Plans. This is your host, Sarah Hart Unger, and this is a podcast where we talk all things

0:45.2

planning and planning adjacent.

0:46.9

Today we have kind of a planning adjacent topic of fitness, though we are coming at it

0:51.9

usually requires a lot of underlying training. and people are often setting fitness goals specifically

1:28.7

because they did not meet fitness goals in the past. Otherwise, they probably wouldn't be setting

1:34.0

it as a goal. And I know my own relationship with fitness goals has changed a little bit.

1:38.7

I used to have some sort of marathon time goal many years. And obviously with my current physical limitations,

1:46.6

I cannot set that kind of goal, but I still really, really enjoy setting fitness goals and

1:52.2

feeling like I'm striving for something in my workouts. I know that eventually what I'll be

1:57.1

striving for is just like functional abilities to do things like go up the stairs when

2:01.3

I'm older. But right now I still love picking some sort of intermediary thing to shoot for.
