Welcome to another sparkling edition of Plank of the Week, the fastest growing television show in the history of Talk Radio. It's the only growing television show in the history of talk radio, of course. I'm delighted to welcome back into the studios because now we can have real people in real situations. Alex Phillips, former Brexit Party MEP, and Kevin O'Sullivan and my colleague on Talk Radio, of course, former colleague from the Daily Mirror. We now do a podcast as well together called The Thought Police. So welcome to both of you.

It's been quite a week for plankish behaviour, just before we get to it, let me tell

Well, I'm very dismayed to nominate Mr Boris Johnson.

Are you?

The allegedly conservative MP who's acting like some kind of crazy nanny state idiot

who was forcing us now, or was telling us all now, to lose five pounds to protect the NHS

and to go cycling and not to eat junk food. And this is none of his business. I don't want

a Conservative Prime Minister to behave like this. You vote Tory for the administration not to interfere in your private life. And he seems to

have lost track about everything that the Tory government should be. I think the coronavirus crisis

has got him hooked on nanny state, dictats, rules and regulations. And he's getting to like

telling us what to do. For me, the hero of the week so far is the artist David Hockney,

who gave the Prime Minister a lesson in the art of freedom.

Freedom of choice.

If you want to smoke, if you want to drink,

and if you want to eat unhealthy food,

you are free to do so in a free society, which we still vaguely are.

So Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, is the nanny state plank of the week for me.

Well, you'll make a lot of fans on the left side of the audience because they're always going on and on about how well we never nominate anybody for the Tory party.
