ADVERTS DISCLAIMER:
This podcast has ads at the start of every episode. However never in the middle of a story or at the end.
Please be assured all ad blocks have been applied to ensure no over 18 or inappropriate ads are played.
However, there may be the odd occasion where an advert slips through the net because the company submitting them submits them under a category that is not correct. This happens very rarely and I do my upmost to stop this happening.
If this happens, please email me at shortstoriesforkids@gmail.com and let me know the following information: What the ad was for? What state you live in? And what episode you heard it on and I will immediately contact Spreaker to block the ad.
I take this very seriously and I really appreciate your support and co-operation.
As creators, we want your childβs experience to be a pleasurable one. Running adverts is necessary to allow us to operate, but please do consider the premium subscription service as an alternative β itβs ad free.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome back, friends, to short stories for kids. |
| 0:16.0 | Planet Plant. |
| 0:18.6 | Far away on a distant arm of the Milky Way galaxy, there is a pale blue planet orbiting |
| 0:24.8 | its own sun. The planet was once a lush green place, crowded with towering trees, fields of |
| 0:32.4 | flowers and sprawling plants. But, unlike our own Earth, this planet had no animals, birds, or even insects. |
| 0:42.5 | The creatures of this planet were different, for they too were plants. There were two intelligent |
| 0:49.2 | plant species that lived on this world. The ice plants looked something like a cross between a flower and a gorilla. |
| 0:57.3 | They were bulky blooms with thick root-like arms and faces surrounded by petals. |
| 1:03.7 | They were extremely clever, finding ways to adapt and change plants to suit their needs. |
| 1:10.7 | They were happy just as long as they didn't |
| 1:13.2 | run into a chickpea. The chickpeas were the other main species. Unlike the ice plants, |
| 1:20.1 | they didn't have broad bodies, but tiny golden yellow ones that included a single eye and a large |
| 1:27.2 | mouth. Although their bodies were small, |
| 1:30.3 | their arms and legs were very, very long, made up of twisting, knotted creepers. They spent their |
| 1:38.6 | time studying the smaller plant-like creatures of the planet, domesticating some to live alongside them. |
| 1:45.9 | It was a good life, unless, of course, they bumped into an ice plant. |
| 1:51.4 | As more and more ice plants came into the world, they grew bigger and more complicated places |
| 1:58.0 | to live, creating vast cities made from modified plants. |
| 2:03.4 | In time, the natural forests and meadows began to vanish as the ice plants spread. |
| 2:10.0 | Meanwhile, the chickpeas became farmers, breeding their chosen species of plant creatures. |
| 2:16.5 | And the more chickpeas there were, the more space they needed for |
| 2:20.1 | their farms. They would clear the natural growth of their land out of the way in order to expand |
